Excellent on carpet and pet hair
I did a LOT of research and himming and hawing before finally buying this vacuum. I had owned a Dyson bagless a few years ago and got rid of it because dumping the canister was a hassle. I was wary about getting another bagless vacuum, but I also hate it when I run out of bags and with a Siberian Husky, well, you vacuum a lot! So, for $99 I figured you can't go wrong with this one, and if I didn't like it, back it goes. So far, so good. I have a little throw rug near the door that with my old vacuum it just sort of looked okay, and I had been thinking I would have to shampoo it or just get a new one. A few passes with the Navigator and that carpet sparkles again, really looks brand new! On my main carpet, this vacuum gets it fluffy and like new; it is fun to walk around on truly clean carpeting. It seems a bit easier to dump the canister on this one, but it still can get tricky if you let it get too full of dog hair before dumping. I wasn't sure about the narrow head of...

Initial impression
I just bought the vacuum yesterday from Costco. Setup is easy. I did it without the manual, that is a rarity for me. I used it to vacuum the old carpet which I just did two days ago with another vacuum cleaner. Dirt showed up in the transparent plastic container immediately and I kept going till 1/3 of the container was full. It was amazing. My wife commented when she came back from work " Look the carpet is much cleaner". Then I check the internet for the review. Many people lodged complaints concerning durability.
I dropped the dirt in the trashcan, rinsed the entire dirt container under the faucet (since it is so small) dried it and studied it to see what caused all the complaints.
The motor run very quite reminding me of a well oiled ball bearing motor - may be it is. The motor is strong. And since there is no high low adjustment feature, the brush scraps my old carpet digging up the old dirt inside the pores. I found the vacuum actually walks on its own...
I love my new Navigator Light Vacumn! I was amazed...
I have a Dyson Animal vacumn & its supposed to be the very best they offer & it was $500. It's not as good as I thought it would be.. I have had it for a few years and I raise small birds & small dogs.. so there is alot of bird seed & dander.. plus we have 10 Dachshunds under foot.. so I vacumn 2x a day at least. The Dyson gets clogged up alot. I have had numurous problems with it after about a year. I wish I had purchased it at Costco - because I would take it back. I bought the Light Blue Shark Navigator at Costco about 3 months ago. I got home, plugged it in and WOW! What Amazing suction!
