Two-stage motors have greater vacuuming capability than single-stage motors. The motor also offers two speed options, one for less noise and one for greater airflow and suction. This vacuum cleaner delivers up to 106 cubic feet per minute of air flow and up to 98.4 inches of water lift, which is a measure of suction (the higher the lift, the greater the suction). The vacuum operates at a sound level of 60 decibels. A 50-foot power cord enables it to cover a larger area without changing outlets than vacuum cleaners with shorter cords. This product meets U.S. Department of Energy Standard 3020 for High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, which remove at least 99.97 percent of airborne particles that are 0.3 micrometers or greater in diameter. very nice vacuum
love the way it glides across my hardwood/tile and low rugs. one thing i liked about this vacuum was the type of rubber wheels it has. they are not the plastic type that will scratch up the hardwood or clunk loudly as i pull across my tile floors. the body of the vacuum cleaner is surrounded by the same type of rubber, giving the vacuum a rubber bumber, so that it doesn't scratch/mar my walls or furniture when i pull it forward. the power suction is supreme! i love to vacuum while the sun shines on the floor and i see all the dust being vacuumed UP, not swirling around the air like my last vacuum. i also like the long hose and the low profile vacuum head made for hardwood floors. the vacuum head gets under every piece of furniture i have, even the side table with 3" clearance and the hose allows me to clean under both couches without having to drag the canister too close and have it be in the way. the hose is so much nicer than pushing and pulling an upright vacuum...

Great suction!
I ordered this because I just had my hardwood floors restored and could no longer use an upright vacuum cleaner on them. This has attachments for both carpets and hard surface floors. The attachment for the carpets lifts my area rugs off the floor! This is a little heavier than I expected and since the suction is so powerful I filled up my bag fairly quickly. It only comes with one bag so make sure you order the replacement bags when you order the vacuum cleaner.With two teenage boys, a dog, two cats and a husband it works wonders! However it did not come with any information and I still have been unable to locate a filter for this vacuum. It didn't even come with a 1-800 # so when I called oreck.com's # they said they were not authorized to sell this product. Hopefully I will be able to find a filter soon.
