Superb Vac! Just call me Odysseus.
Yes, it has been quite an odyssey because somedog (Dexter!!) chewed the cord on my Bissel. From reading and viewing the various reports here on Amazon as well as various other websites and numerous excursions to Lowes, Home Depot, Wallyworld, Sears, and BestBuy, I have been researching vacuums for awhile. I've bought and returned two Dysons, two Hovers, an Electrolux, a Eureaka, a Bissel or two, an LG (the blue one, which I talk about below), and some other brand - I think it was a Shark. And I'm here to tell you that this one is, by far, the best I've experienced.

Before I move on to the pros, cons, and conclusion, if you're trying to decide between this one and the one-higher model (it's the blue one - LuV300R, I think), I recommend this one for three reasons:

1. This one has the auto cord rewind, which, for me, makes the difference between procrastination and productivity.

2. Because the wand on the blue one also serves as the vac's handle, it...
Sucking Amazing!
Whoever designed this vacuum must have spent a lot of time vacuuming, because it fixes all those annoying little details. Retractable cord? Check. Quick and easy access to tools? Check. Simple to switch between carpet and hard floors? Check. Multiple levels for the roller brush, also easy to switch between? Check.

What really impressed me, though, was the little things you never knew you wanted. While setting it up, I said to myself, "Oh, that's clever!" more than once. The hose connects to the body with a magnet. The crevice tool and upholstery brush are actually one tool--the brush slides down over the crevice for use. The extension part of the tube is, well, I can't really explain it, but it's cool and easy to use! And I have no idea how it does it, but it doesn't get the fringe on my rug all tangled up in the sweeper bar, so I don't have to switch to the hard floor to do the edges. Again, it's a little thing, but it makes a difference.

As for how...

Product Features :

• Motorized compression system to compact dirt and greatly reduce the dust cloud when emptying the bin
• 30 foot auto-rewind cord is one of the longest in the market
• Air-turbine powered brush is great for stairs and interiors as well as removing pet hair from fabrics and carpets
• A true HEPA filter captures 99.97% of dust mites and pollen
• The Vertical Cyclone System rapdily spins air vertically to separate out dirt

Great vacuum for tile, wood and laminate floors
I was looking for a vacuum to replace my 20 year old Rainbow. I have very little carpet in my house but I do have alot of tile and laminate flooring. This vacuum does great on them! This is a huge plus for me. It also works on carpet. It is light weight, beautiful and makes very little noise! My dog couldn't believe it! Has great attachments and is very easy to use. It is BAGLESS and a snap to empty & clean. Stores nicely too! LOVE IT!!

Performs as expected
I like this vacumn for the most part. I don't like that the cord is so short or that the attachments do not ride on the canister. I love the telescoping wand. The suction works great on all the dirt, leaves and pet hair. It is light and easy to move around. I don't see much difference in the different settings for the suction. Not a big deal since I only have hard floors, no carpet. The carpet/floor nozzle is a little tall to get under some furniture and seems flimsey. Mostly I am satisfied and this machine does what it is supposed to.
Satisfied with this Purchase...
I'm writing this review on behalf of my wife, who needed a new vacuum cleaner after her 25+ year old Electrolux canister vacuum cleaner finally gave up the ghost. As always, I researched Consumer Reports, Amazon and other sites' reviewer feedback before making my decision. As it turned out, the LG Kompressor was rated highest in its price range, which I felt was very reasonable at $233. According to my wife, it cleans very well, is easy to handle, and now she no longer needs to buy, install, or remove those messy bags. The Kompressor is very compact, and to be honest, I think it looks really cool in red! Nice job, LG, for making a great product at an affordable price. And thanks to Consumer Reports and Amazon, too, for making the decision and transaction a very easy one for us.

Product Features :

• Motorized compression system compacts dirt and greatly reduces the dust cloud when emptying the bin allowing you to pick up three times more dirt before emptying versus non-compressor models
• The bearing wheel enables smooth sliding with less pulling for a better cleaning experience
• Includes Pet Hair Turbine tool, 2 in 1 built-in brush, crevice tool and a telescopic wand
• 18.7 foot long auto rewind cord

Simply wonderful
When I had to purchase a new vacuum cleaner I spent hours researching online in addition to a couple of hours using demonstration models at local stores.

The LG was by far the best vacuum I have ever used. I tried out vacuums from Dyson, Hoover, Eureka, Bissel, and Electrolux. The Dyson was the only one that came close in comparison. The LG has as much suction as the Dyson, but is better designed and much quiter. The Kompressor technology really works (can vacuum the whole house without having to stop to empty the dust bin). We have two dogs, three kids in a 2000 square foot home with three levels (two carpeted, one with hardwood and tile). This vacuum excels in picking up dog hair off carpet, and the hard floor attachment works perfectly. The controls on the handle are brilliant. Unlike the Dyson canister the brush roll is motorized and can be turned off with the handle controls, as can Max and Min suction (Min is used for dusting curtains and drapes). The build...

Great Features - Poor Reliability
Review after using it for two weeks every other day: ***** (5 stars)
The vacuum is easy to handle, makes very little noise, the kids can sleep, watch TV, or play while we are vacuuming.
The compressing part of the dust bin works great. It compresses all the dust together in little patties, so you do not have particles of dirt flying around in the dust bin and makes it very easy to clean. The vacuum has great suction, both on tile and rugs in our 3300 sq feet house. Very happy with the product!!!!

Review update after using it for 14 months: *** (three stars)
Features are excellent, still very quiet, dust bin very easy to clean, the fine filter still looks brand new due to the good design of the dust compressing in the big dust bin.
However, after using the vacuum for three months, the controls in the handle stopped working and there was no way to start the vacuum as there was no other switch. We had to ship it out of state (we live in Florida), it took...
SPEECHLESS!
Being speechless is definitely not one of my traits, and anyone who knows me can certainly attest to that. I just (10 minutes ago) opened the package that arrived last night and couldn't resist to test this product since all the reviews were stellar. About 7 minutes of vacuuming (my already freshly vacuumed - with Dyson Animal - carpets) and I was astounded by the amount of dirt (the cansiter was practically full) that gathered in the canister. After being thoroughly disgusted by the fact that my pride and joy home which is always spotless (I vacuum and dust everyday) was infact NOT THAT spotless, I sat down to write this review which is the first review I have ever written in my life. This product absolutely warrants a glowing 5 star review, as it is 100% what it is advertised to be. It is easy to put together, is easy to navigate, goes under my very low furniture and is endowed with an impressive suction power, so much so that it almost propells itself on the carpet. It even...
